WHAT I LEARNED FROM BEING CHARGED BY A RHINO
Language is a powerful thing. People daydream about the power of telepathy, but language is already pretty damn magical. Speaking, hearing, reading, writing words every day, we forget how incredible this aspect of human existence is. I can make a thought go from my head and put it inside your head without even touching you. Apples. Bananas. Strawberries. A fish with human bosoms. With my hands tied behind my back and blindfolded I can make pictures go from my brain into your brain. I can do it without even meeting you - thousands of miles apart. Even dead people can do this magic trick. They can leave words behind that create thoughts and pictures in the minds of the living. Despite being a lifeless skeleton they can affect the actions of human beings from beyond the grave. That’s how much of a magician language makes us all. We don’t need telepathy to get excited about communication: we already have supernatural vibes woven into the natural fabric of life.
Communication is so powerful it can even transcend species. And that’s where I want to take us with today’s article. I want to tell you about the time I was charged by a rhinoceros and the genuine conversation that took place between us. You’ll have to subscribe to read the whole thing but I reckon it’s worth it. You’ll also get access to the archives and every article and video I publish. Can I recommend new subscribers check out the Jimmy Osmond prank video involving a goat - scrutinized studiously and given the thumbs up by several lawyers.

Only a few thousand left in the wild. And so obviously my first thought was to start revving the engine, honking my horn to try and get it to do something…
