No one has had enemies as evil as those we’ve endured.
History’s cruelest people have come for us.
Sadists have made it their mission to inflict pain upon us for its own sake.
Tormenting us has been the end in itself.
I cannot speak directly of what the Pharoah did or the Greeks or the Nazis. It is difficult to imagine that Hamas wouldn’t have been at least equal to those villains. When it comes to the fluency with which they speak the language of evil and act the pattern of sin, they are surely unsurpassed on the globe.
I have never known cruelty like what we have witnessed and are experiencing today.
It is astonishing.
Add to this the gaslighting and the lies and the denial of what is happening and we’re in a labyrinth of warped hostile faces snarling and laughing from mirrors and spitting at us.
It is something beyond the Bible. The hatred we’re experiencing is deep. It’s deeper than history. It’s not in any book. It’s deeper than time itself. It’s the darkness before darkness. The scream that predated any voice. It is ancient. It predated creation. Before the face upon the water. In a place that was no place. In a time that wasn’t time. In invisible darkness and shapeless shadow. Before digestive juices boiled in the belly. Before any scuttling legs or octopus were created. Before eyes rolled in the sockets of half-blind creatures. Before evil begat evil. Before the broken crow that gave birth to rats that ate the crow their mother. Before the dog that died on a lonely tundra. Before the knife. Before the bomb. Before the bullet. Before the barbed wire and the trench. Before the broken jaw of woman. Before the baby’s brains were beaten out. Before the collapsed body on the funeral marble. Before the screams of grief. Before everything it arrived. It’s a mist that rolled in from hell before man was created. A mist that rolled in from the hole before any life crawled, swam or flew. Before the world spun and before rain fell. Before soil and before roots. An evil settled itself in the cracks of the rock and waited, sleeping with a smile on its face, like a snake waiting to swallow the whole world.
In the early times some saw this world and moved away from it. Others go towards it still. To learn. To gather tools. To baptise themselves in the black river.
Hamas and their supporters have bathed in sin and breathed the pyre of deliberate death.
People talk of the new world we find ourselves in after October 7th.
This isn’t a new world.
We’ve rediscovered the old.
It was never gone.
Evil has always stalked this land.
We dreamed the struggle was won long ago.
October 7th woke us from a dream we never even knew we slumbered in.
There is nothing intellectual in the world anymore.
There is only good and evil.
And right now there is more darkness than light.
I’m glad I’m on the side that’s outnumbered.
I’m glad I’m in the resistance.
You can only fight evil if you recognize, and too many are blind to it.
Kern speaks the truth.
