The internet is awash with claims that Jews are like Nazis. This comes through insinuation or is explicitly stated. Some say Israelis are behaving like the Nazis today. Others, (invariably the same people), say Jews collaborated with Hitler in the past.
This is the first of two articles available for subscribers. The second article addresses the claim that Hitler and Jewish Zionists collaborated in the 1930s. Today’s article deals with the assertion that present day Israel is behaving the same way towards Palestinians as the Nazis did towards Jews.
Let’s jump straight to the conclusion and work from there: it’s a load of bollocks. Comparing Jews to Nazis in relation to the Israel-Palestine conflict is a way for stupid people to feel like they’ve had a smart idea. They think the poetic twist of the abused becoming the abuser is a cute thought and that the irony of this role-reversal somehow equals truth. But being proud of a cool story you tell yourself and looking to be praised for your pop-psychology doesn’t mean you’ve actually arrived at the truth.
The most basic understanding of history and the most cursory insight into the present disproves the premise. Nazis tried to exterminate every Jew on the planet for racist reasons. Israel-Palestine is not a racial conflict but a land dispute. Israel has continuously sought peace with its neighbours. If Palestinians also sought peace the conflict would end. But they don’t. None the less, Israel continues to sue for peace because its aspiration is a Middle East in which all people - including Palestinians - can live. This doesn’t quite tally with the Nazis, whose aspiration was a world in which all Jews were dead. Wanting to shake hands with your neighbours and wanting to bury your neighbours are two entirely different things.
It’s worth noting that the global Jewish population still hasn’t returned to its pre-Holocaust numbers. By contrast the Palestinian population has boomed. That’s because there is no ethnic cleansing or genocide being committed by Israel. Israel has the power to wipe out every Palestinian tomorrow if it wanted to - but it does not. Having the power to act - but not doing so - reveals once again that Israel’s intent towards Palestinians is not Nazi-like or genocidal.
By contrast, Gaza’s governing body, the terrorist organisation Hamas, does nothing but declare its genodical intention towards Jews. Their Islamic fundamentalist charter states:
“The hour of judgment shall not come until the Muslims fight the Jews and kill them, so that the Jews hide behind trees and stones, and each tree and stone will say: 'Oh Muslim, oh servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him,’ ”
If we’re looking for who actually does have a kinship with the Nazis we can also point to the swastikas displayed by Hamas at the border:
Or we could also point to the fact that Hitler’s Mein Kampf continues to be a best seller in the territories - despite Hitler not being alive to go on a promotional tour and give book readings. I guess he established a huge fan base when the Palestinian Mufti, Haj Amin al-Husseini, formed a pact with him in 1941:
The key thing to remember is that Hamas - and the Palestinian population who listen to their call - act on this genocidal intent. As a result - yes Israel has soldiers with guns, it has checkpoints, people are searched, a wall has been built, barbed wire exists. But to say these visuals make Israel comparable to the Nazis - when they exist in conflict zones all over the world - is antisemitic discrimination and pernicious nonsense. The Nazi’s offensive measures against a Jewish “threat” were the product of delusional, racist conspiracies against an unarmed population. Israel’s defensive measures are based upon thousands of rockets being fired by armed Palestinians, suicide bombers blowing up children in cafes, terror tunnels trying to infiltrate school playgrounds, elderly people being stabbed with kitchen knives, car rammings, and the small issue of several conventional wars that sought to destroy Israel. Israel’s defence of its citizens (which includes Christians and Muslims), is rational, moral and anyone reading would do exactly the same.
The whole premise is even more absurd when considering the fact that Israel is a multicultural society with equal rights for all. In a Nazi society this wasn’t the case. Jews were stripped of all rights. They were forbidden from holding public office or working in academia. Jewish books were burned and it was forbidden to have sexual relations with Jews. By contrast, Arabs in Israel can and do hold the highest office, arabic books are printed, and Arabs and Jews have sex. Good for them. It’s nice to know someone’s having fun.
If Jews and Israel aren’t behaving like Nazis in either thought or deed, why does this allegation exist? There are a few reasons. None of them complicated. Firstly, Holocaust inversion is a way for Europe to assuage their guilt over their role in the extermination of Jews. If it turns out we’re evil like the Nazis - well then it wasn’t such a bad thing that people collaborated or turned a blind eye to our deaths. The eagerness to believe Jews are disposed to such evil is itself a case of simple, old school antisemitism. Being able to throw the Holocaust in the face of its Jewish victims adds a deliciously taboo, antisemitic frisson, calibrated to cause maximum pain and degradation to the Jews that hear it.
Then there’s the role it can play in hurting the world’s only Jewish country. The goal of pro-Palestinian extremists who reject peace, despise Jewish self-determination and who seek arab-muslim hegemony in the Middle East is to say whatever is conducive towards channeling hatred at Israel. As Nazism is synonymous with evil, a civilised person would endorse anything - including violence - to eradicate such evil. Equating Israel with Nazism incites the destruction of the Jewish State and the genocide of its inhabitants. It now becomes clear that Holocaust inversion is actually a strategy for Holocaust continuation.
It also incites violence against Jews living in America, Britain, France and the entire diaspora. Most Jews in the world support the right of Israel to exist on land to which Jewish origins are indigenous and which is central to Jewish identity. But if it transpires that these Jews are supporting “Nazis” - then they deserved to be ostracised, screamed at, shoved and punched, right?
In conclusion: the notion that Israel and the Jews are acting like modern days Nazis is ridiculous and hateful. It is an assault on history and aims to inspire actual assault on Jews today. It reveals the level of hatred and danger that still exists for Jews. And so when people mockingly say, “Haven’t the Jews learned the lesson of the Holocaust?” We answer: yes we have - that’s why Israel exists.

ARE JEWS THE NEW NAZIS?
Historically, when a society has any problems at all, economic, social, whatever, it concocts a lie it points at the Jews, deflects all blame, rage and disappointment onto the Jews AND AWAY FROM THE PEOPLE IN POWER who might actually be responsible or at least capable of fixing the problem. This has literally happened pretty much every 50 years for the past 2500 years. Over the past 50 years, our jobs were first shipped overseas and then what was left was automated away, while mass extinction and climate disruption were given full rein. I had not expected that the rise in social media and the loss of privacy would enable foreign governments to brainwash our populace into fighting itself and thereby splinter and destroy what are essentially empires. It didn't occur to me, witnessing all these solvable problems remain unsolved and get worse and worse, that someday the Jews would be blamed for the impending catastrophes, but I think that's where it's coming from. When you need an internal enemy, the Jews always fit the bill.
When I heard some of the imams speak about how once they've run out of Jews to kill, they'll move onto the Christians, I realized, oh wow, America is weakened, the EU is weakened, China is weakened, Russia is weakened, all these powers have their problems, and Iran sees its opportunity to continue the spread of radical Islam at the point of the sword that once took over Africa, the Middle East and half of Asia. And we paid for it, oil money, we financed them every time we got in the car and drove somewhere, every time we bought something that had to be shipped in from somewhere, created somewhere, and from materials that either were petroleum in origin or needed petroleum in their manufacture. And for the Islamists to take over, you need to be distracted, you need to be too busy to notice, so hey, instead of "Look over there, a pony!" it's "Look over there, a Jew! And they need to be killed!"
For the Islamists who really do want to kill all the Jews to point the finger at Jews and say "You Nazi, you're guilty of genocide" when all they've done is defended themselves, that's pure gaslighting, pure DARVO, but antisemitism was always just below the surface, and now it's a joy, a relief, you don't have to pretend to tolerate *those people*, those *horrible* people who run everything and own everything and steal everything from you and by the way did you know they kill babies too.
While the world's really serious problems go from solvable to unsolvable, while we destroy the world, we waste our energy on infighting, on looking for someone to blame, someone to kill, rather than addressing our problems. We, the Chosen Scapegoats, the traditional scapegoats, are always there for the public service of letting people off the hook of actually solving problems.
